The questions should be is
How many administrators are retiring early and is there an administrator shortage?
What is the ratio of administrators vs teachers in each district?
How many teachers moved into the administrative ranks?
Is there a hiring frenzy in administration which then affects the total payroll which is factored into the budget.
So is payroll more or less with the teacher shortage? If less our taxes should go down.

Good point Freddy, my school district has quite a few jobs being advertised on there website it’s sickening. The one thing that I don’t understand is they are in need of bus drivers but yet class hasn’t and still is not in session. Just another fraudulent abuse a taxpayers money when will it ever ever end.

I do want to add that it will end by September of this year, myself and my wife have had enough time to leave this state why we still have time.

The main reason they’re leaving is that after years of exorbitantly high salaries they don’t need the money

National student/teacher ratio avg is a smidge over 15/1. A couple generations ago, that would’ve been considered a wealth of resources. Today, it’s a “shortage”.

Great point. The ratio of 15 students per teacher is considered astonishingly low by anyone…of a certain age.

Also, considering this “shortage”, wouldn’t Illinois school boards be well advised to renegotiate future teacher contracts’ early retirement entitlements? Age 55 for Tier 1 and age 58 for Tier 2 workers must be contributing to the problem.
