Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias said the federal pause is damaging the state’s economy. “A strong economy depends on strong logistics,” he said in a statement. “If trucks don’t move, supply chains fail, prices rise, and families feel it in their pocketbooks. We can see the actions by the Trump administration taking their toll on our truckers and our farmers, both of whom are essential to Illinois’ economy.”
All of them. All you need is something with an Illinois address on it.

Charge Alexi in issuing CDL licenses like they did Ryan.

How can Illinois politicians accuse the federal government about not following laws, when they don’t follow them, themselves?
Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Alexi’s argument that the feds are impeding logistics in IL is complete BS. When IL issues a non domiciled CDL it is to a person who is supposed to be in the country legally but living without a permanent address in a state other than IL. They can driver in all 48 lower states. They are not obtaining CDLs in IL while living elsewhere so they can work with IL. Other than application and licensing revenue why would IL issue these licenses? Pandering to illegals and voters would be two reasons. And yet people will vote for people like Alexi… Read more »
“living without a permanent address in a state other than IL.”
Call me ignorant, but that seems like a really bad policy worthy of another look.

They’re so misguided…they’d probably still root for Illegals even if they harmed one of their own family members.

1994 and the Willis Family are sooooooo ancient history. The investigation into corruption in Ryan’s office began with a horrendous tragedy, while Ryan was still Illinois’ secretary of state. On Election Day 1994, a piece of a tail-light assembly fell off a semi-trailer on a Milwaukee expressway and bounced beneath a minivan, rupturing its gas tank and exploding the van into flames. Six children from the Willis family of Chicago, en route to a little getaway, were killed; their parents were severely burned. Other motorists told police they tried to warn the driver of the truck that the piece was… Read more »
Great point. Someone should remind Alexi about that. Is there corruption in Alexi’s office buying licenses? Is Alexi another George Ryan?

What a whiny response by Alexi. Forget public safety and the fatalities caused by unlicensed non English speaking drivers. Trump hurting IL economy by getting rid of undocumented drivers. Why can’t IL demand that qualified people get CDL licenses?
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
“ The Bankrupter “ has about as much regard for IL drivers as his family’s bank had for its depositors.
Lets face it. Illinois press will squash it. They’re gutless
No, they aren’t gutless – they are propaganda outlets for Democrat gaslighting.
When you go to get or renew your drivers license State of Illinois signs you up TO VOTE !! How many ILLEGALS were also registered to VOTE ???
