Isn’t this what you voted for? Equity and inclusion. What better way to say it than including low income housing in your community to drive down the equity in your home. I am all for YIMBY in Chicago and Illinois. You all asked for it. Now you will get it. And while you are at it make sure to clear space for homeless encampments in your local parks and illegals in your homes. That should complete the trifecta.
Actually, it should be termed Yes In YOUR Backyard. One will see very, very few “ affordable housing “ units built anywhere near any powerful Dem party members. Bet it.
The dems really don’t get it. You take away home equity by placing potentially subsidized housing in their midst and watch how many more people hit the exit button from Illinois. It isn’t enough to pay the highest property taxes – they now want your equity too.
The dems think people are dumb enough to stay here, no matter how many times they kick you in the teeth. Ironic they think DJT heads a communist regime.
I moved years ago and have saved tens of thousands on property tax alone. I am shocked that Any of the tax paying citizens are still living in illinois. Especially if you are a young single person or family. The quality of life you could have outside of illinois is so much better. illinois is truely a waste of life.
The goal is to make you leave the state. They hope you sell to an immigrant with a household that reliably votes Democrat. That’s why they do these things. It makes them happy when you leave. Like the new mayor of Seattle said after raising taxes, “The rich won’t leave our city, and if they do, well, Bye! (as she waved her hand)” They don’t care if the budget goes negative, they will raise your taxes and borrow more money, or sell assets. Look up Yimby. Acquaint yourself who this group is. Then look up Yimby Illinois. There you will find active Illinois bills this group supports. Watch your local board meetings. Democrat, Communist control of your towns by the State of Illinois has to be stopped! How the Feds let states like Illinois implement communism in our state as well as other blue, communist states operate is beyond belief.
