This was buried in the story: “Schultz said he still wants to know how the proposed system would handle disability hearings. He said pooling resources could be helpful, but staying local could be quicker and allow for more familiarity.” Likely this is a key consideration … objectivity in determining disability could impede those who “plan” to become disabled (see the Long Island Railroad case). Lose the
phrendly physicians and the tilted trustees and many might experience a delay in heading to the Lauderdale links for back therapy.
