Emanuel’s $7.3 billion budget — and the $62.4 million in tax increases needed to pay for it — are poised to breeze through the City Council Wednesday, setting the stage for a post-election property tax increase.

Comment: Unimaginable increases in taxes would be required to fix Chicago. Count on post-election increases as large as Rahm thinks he can get away with, and count on those increases not fixing much.

Chicago is far beyond insolvent.
