This was a vote on House Floor Amendment 6 (HFA 6) of Senate Bill 2437 (SB 2437) in the 99th General Assembly.

Kurt Hilgendorf of the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) filed a witness slip opposing HFA 6.

Joe Healy of LiUNA Local 1092, James Brosnahan of James D. Brosnahan Ltd representing IBEW, Local 134, Mike Macellaio of the Chicago & Cook County Building & Construction Trades Council, Victoria Watkins of the Office of the Mayor of the City of Chicago, and John Hanley of IUOE Local 399 filed witness slips supporting HFA 6.

A statewide concern: Illinois’ population decline outpaces neighboring states – Wirepoints on ABC20 Champaign

“We are not in good shape” Wirepoints’ Ted Dabrowski told ABC 20 Champaign during a segment on Illinois’ latest population losses. Illinois was one of just three states to shrink in the 2010-2020 period and has lost another 300,000 people since then. Ted says things need to change. “It’s too expensive to live here, there aren’t enough good jobs and nobody trusts the government anymore. There’s just other places to go where you can be more satisfied.”
