The district said 381,349 students were in class on the 20th day of the school year. That number includes all schools that operate under the CPS umbrella, including privately run charter schools and alternative learning programs.

As the Chicago cost of living (especially housing) skyrockets to pay for massive debit for the few, the bedrock of CPS–poor folk w kids are the first to leave. for CPS & CTU, where are the are the army of upper income 30-something progressives hippsters w kids to fill up all those classrooms, empty neighborhoods and pay thousands and thousands more in taxes?
