Does this mean taxpayers finally get to find out what it’s going to cost? Or is that still a secret?

It’s a rare school district that allows taxpayers to view a tentative collective bargaining agreement before it’s finalized by the lawyers, a process which often takes several months.

It’s even a rarer school district that releases a marked up version of the contract to the public, indicating all changes made to the previous agreement, using for example underline text for additions and stricken text for deletions.

At this point the CPS agreement has not been released to the taxpayers.

I don’t care about T&C, I care about the cost of the new contract.

The process to approve teacher collective bargaining agreements in Illinois is flawed.
The management (employer) side does not require approval by rank and file taxpayers.
The union side does require approval by rank and file teachers.
