The monument coming to the Illinois Medical District on Chicago’s Near West Side is actually five illuminated multi-colored sculptures designed to resemble a hybrid of a dandelion puff and the COVID-19 virus. The dandelion, which grows worldwide, is meant to represent the universality of pandemic suffering.
Gee, maybe we could find a new home for that Columbus statue.

Maybe they should see what happens with the bird flu.

They should build a monument for the 20,000 ventilators Pritzker said he needed when actually only one tenth of that were necessary, and it was determined ventilators weren’t helping people anyway. JB probably still has 10,000 rolls of TP in his mansions that actually have toilets.

“It is based on three pillars: Honor is for the front-line workers, remembrance is for those who perished, and the resilience is for those left standing and carrying the load and the science.” By front-line workers I assume they mean healthcare. Personally, I’d include the forgotten workers, those who couldn’t work from home — food delivery drivers, clerks at the stores which were allowed to remain open, bus drivers and so many more. As for those who perished, that should include those who were denied a potentially lifesaving treatment and those who died from the jab. I won’t say what I… Read more »
I think it may have been used, but probably less than 50 patients.

I hope they put those footprint stickers on the ground so everyone stays 6 feet apart. I would also like to see etched in stone at the base of this monument “Two Weeks To Flatten The Curve”. As a reminder to all, no one cared one bit about all the grocery store employees who showed up for work during the pandemic and kept us all fed. They were totally ignored by all the lapdogs of the left. I’ll never forget the postal facility I saw during the pandemic that had a giant Heroes Work Here banner, as if sorting or… Read more »

I’m afraid to ask but what kind of monument would be erected for all the 40K or more abortions performed in Illinois which kills more every year than all the covid deaths in Illinois?
IIRC abortion clinics and legal pot dispensaries were “essential” and could stay open, but churches, schools, day cares, playgrounds, and small businesses were “nonessential” and had to close down.
Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Waste of money. But if this gets done, include copies of Pritzker’s lockdown emergency orders and include a tribute to all the kids sidetracked by the lockdown and effects on their studies.

A monument built to resemble a virus that killed millions, brought to you by the people who tear down and deface monuments to the Founding Fathers. They really are mentally ill.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Amen, Mary.
Put it out in front of McCormick place where millions were spent for a makeshift hospital and wasn’t used
