A statewide concern: Illinois’ population decline outpaces neighboring states – Wirepoints on ABC20 Champaign
“We are not in good shape” Wirepoints’ Ted Dabrowski told ABC 20 Champaign during a segment on Illinois’ latest population losses. Illinois was one of just three states to shrink in the 2010-2020 period and has lost another 300,000 people since then. Ted says things need to change. “It’s too expensive to live here, there aren’t enough good jobs and nobody trusts the government anymore. There’s just other places to go where you can be more satisfied.”
Wow, reading this is like day vs. night. I have not lived in Illinois for 15 years, and from all the wailing on this website it sounded to me like the city, and the state, are going down the drain. Along comes this article and instead of being the worst, most bankrupt city in the entire world, Chicago is described as the funnest, most afordable big city instead. I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side of the pond.
The party’s fun until the bill comes due or you wind up dead on the wrong side of the tracks.
Neither debt nor murder was covered in the article.
