Politics also account for some of why Kenosha’s industrial sector is growing so rapidly, observers said. Battle said Wisconsin’s recent decision to enact an income tax credit on the manufacturing and agriculture industries will help entice businesses.
Helping just as much as the Wisconsin Legislature’s actions are the misactions of Illinois, whose high taxes and high deficit spending are causing weary businesses to move elsewhere, Hoffman said.
“From a business standpoint, the Wisconsin political process is stable when compared to Illinois’, which is a positive,” Hoffman said.
