Illinois education, Chicago in particular, has become a jobs program: big salaries, big pensions for teachers and admins. At the same time, the kids can’t read. – Wirepoints on Shaun Thompson Show on AM560 The Answer

Being raped by gangs is normal. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2012/feb/18/being-raped-by-gang-normal. Until we recognize what we are dealing with, and deal harshly with the gangsters, taxpayers, families and children will continue to be victimized. It is much tougher when the gangsters have the law on their side. The bribery is still costly, but their risks are greatly diminiahed. I see no reason for things to change.

There is an enormous amount of corruption in the system and there is no leadership. Anyone in a better position out of the classroom ( counselors, attendance office, work program coordinator, asst. principal, principal and all beyond) owe allegiance to someone above them. Input is stifled and money gets wasted. Anyone remember the golf course they put in Douglass Park when a teenage Tiger Woods was thought to be the motivation that would inspire black males? CPS has failed. Let it Sink!

Percent of students reading at grade level paints a more positive picture than really exists. For instance, 2% of Manley’s 64 students is 1.3 students rounded up. It is past time to reorganize the system.

This is nothing new. In the mid 80’s I took on a contract to develop some data entry software at CPS admin. on the mainframe. I remember it as a place where 100 or so people came into work, read newspapers all day smoking or visited each others desks and chatted for hours. Then lunchtime for an hour or two, then back, then the building promptly clearing out by 4:30. I wrote the software, then had to train three or four employees how to use it. That didn’t go too far, because their fingernails were so long they literally couldn’t… Read more »

It’s been said ad nauseum, and with every day it appears to be truer. The primary allegiance held by teachers in Chicago and most major cities is to the union. The same as a union janitor, laborer or factory worker. Does this mean teachers are cruel, heartless individuals? Of course not. Early on in their education and perhaps career, most probably felt they could save the world one student at a time. But no doubt they soon learned which side their bread was buttered on (sorry for the terminal preposition). I would hope that many if not most teachers maintain… Read more »

Ok Ted. You and Mark have identified the problem, offered solutions, and yet, cannot get arrested. Shaun Thompson has moved to FLA and is encouraging g his listeners to do so as well, and to use him as their RE agent! So what’s is the next step? It’s quite evident that the combine that runs this state is doing its darnedest to suppress your message. I’m waiting for the smear piece in the Sun Times. Either you’re squeaky clean, or they’re just deathly afraid to expose the truth you’ve been speaking for years now. Ken Griffin didn’t support you. Uhline… Read more »

I have no idea who he is, but he got it right. Wirepoints should also be encouraging residents to leave Illinois.

Hoo, boy, there is so much to respond to it that, but let me at least take a shot at your question about what the next step should be. It seems to me that each individual should do what they in particular are best at and have the opportunity to do. Some people can write, some have influence over others, some are comfortable speaking in public, etc.. Others may not. If you have kids in school, for example, make it known firmly that you won’t tolerate woke political indoctrination or lessons in gender fluidity, and don’t put up with anybody… Read more »

Rob, you can do all that Mark recommends and just maybe you will make a difference, but I doubt it. On the other hand, you could leave Illinois and improve your future. Also know that by leaving, you hurt the Illinois socialists by denying them your tax dollars.

I have no quarrel with those who leave. All other things being equal, I see the wisdom in doing so. I hope, however, that wherever somebody goes, they remember that the threat from the forces that are destroying Illinois is widespread, and those forces must be stopped.

Always appreciate the author’s responding to comments. Just one of the reasons I respect this site.

Yes, the fight of socialism vs capitalism is nationwide.

“you can get a supermajority across the state with a grassroots campaign to take the state back from the corrupt combine.”

Disagree. That’s why Democrats institutionalized drop-box voting – to better facilitate the stealing of elections. Illinois will never be able to vote it’s way out of the Democrat supermajority.

The victims of this scam are the students and the taxpayers..

You can not be a good parent and continue to stay in Chicago & send your kids to CPS.

Totally agree. Even if you use private schools there is still the overall safety issue.

Probably the highest paid teachers/admins in the country, once multi-million dollar “pensions” are considered…..and incredible lack of performance. Typical political class results for IL/Chicago.

Once again folks,

Don’t confuse education with a government mandated jobs program.

Or nanny-state day care for parents who can’t, or won’t, raise their own children.
