Kamala Harris on Sunday released the short video below about her views on equality. It concludes with this:  “Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place.”

Nationally, right-of-center news sources and politicians are all over that because that line represents what is arguably the most central principle of communism. As the New York Post put it, “Harris has taken some heat in the hours since sharing the video, specifically from those arguing that while equal opportunity was inherently American, equal outcomes would be an example of communism by ensuring that each person gets the same result.”

This being the eve of perhaps the most consequential election in American history, and with Biden seen by over half of American voters as unlikely to serve out a first term, Harris’s words should indeed be on the front page of every page in the nation.

Instead, most of the national media and all of Illinois media as far as we have seen have not a word on Harris’s view.

The betrayal by the American media of its essential role in democracy will perhaps be remembered as more consequential than this election, and the Illinois media aren’t helping.

The supression of the Hunter Biden laptop in order to influence an election is the greatest failure in American “journalism” ever.

This is the same group of people who don’t ask JB hard questions, facilitated the perpetuation of the Russia hoax, and have never held the Clinton’s to account… The only surprise is that more educated folks aren’t raising their voices in disgust.

Thanks, I had forgotten about the photo of her with Emma Erikson from her early modeling career.

Do you know anyone who is voting FOR Joe Biden? I fully understand why some people would vote AGAINST President Trump – irrational hatred is a powerful motivation and there’s a cult of haters that has been building for almost four years. Maybe the peer-pressure to join that group is too strong for some insecure fools to resist. But, other than that, what could convince anyone that a clearly senile, creepy, corrupt old man would be a good Chief Executive and Commander in Chief of the United States of America?  His idiot-son is a dumpster fire. His entire family is a model for the… Read more »

I long for the reporters of decades ago-there is no truth in the media these days. What’s more, I won’t ever believe the IL politicians! Lifelong resident and I know they are all crooked. There will never be equality as long as these same legislatures are in office.

There is a stuffed “journalist” in a diorama at the Field Museum. He looks angry and hung-over.

The only time you end up at the same place as everybody else – equitable treatment in action – is when you’re dead. Can each of us end up at the same place as KH? Don’t believe she’d like that. While still breathing, I don’t want to end up at the same place as everybody else because I detest crowds. Do remember Black Lies Matter.

The anchors and lead reporters at ABC7 have been brain dead for months. Just parrot the number of new cases and whatever JB says. Got very boring, as the only thing changing was the news on street crime. There is no investigative firepower there, or will to investigate the most corrupt government in the country. Oh how I wish for Bill and Walter in these times.

How can the media’s failures be remembered when they write history? It will never be reported or recorded. As George Orwell said “Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.” In this case, looking at the VP is a legitimate concern, because KamelToe will end up as President.

I still don’t understand how Kampala manages to get past her deal with Willie Brown. This green lights every workplace predator to try the same gambit with a lady that just wants to do her job / Really in a MeToo era giving her a pass is obscene

Calling her Kampala and going on about her “deal” with Willie Brown is exactly the reason that this stuff doesn’t get coverage. It’s stupidity like this that discourages the media and most Americans from taking potentially valid points into consideration. Act like an adult and deal in verifiable truth and you’ll be shocked at how much less you’ll perceive yourself as the victim of some nefarious conspiracy.

Although we may disagree on many issues…

I agree with you on the immature name calling…

I routinely pass over reading comments that start by ridiculing one’s name…

They may contain excellent points…

But they diminish their ability to express them when they resort to such juvenile behavior…

I agree with your point of view superficially, but there have ALWAYS been lots of people having the kind of advantages you’ll likely never have due to various reasons—sometimes inheritances, sometimes a life of repeatedly having made good choices and/or having good luck about what to do and when to do it, having good social connections, etc. Many people in our country seem to live a charmed life as compared to yours as you’ve briefly described it. On balance our country can only offer you a chance to succeed at that level at most rather than promise it to you.

You entirely missed the point,im refering to socialist ideals where people who dont work should get free shit that myself and every other hard working person would have to pay for by paying more taxes to fund all the “free”programs the leftists are pushing-aint nothing free!

Okay. I don’t like much of that either and that lesson the hard way. When I was a young guy I worked doing all kinds of odd jobs from age 12 until going to college simply to be able to do it with minimal help from my parents, something I was able to do simply by saving about every dollar I could. Meantime—guess what?–my high school friends who did no such thing were able to get financial assistance to do so. I can’t say whether, generally speaking, it was loans or some actual freebie money. But, I do know it… Read more »

Why doesn’t your party address generational wealth transfer a la Pritzker?
Constitutionalamendment to tax family fortunes held in perpetually untaxed trust such as Pritzker’s could be taxed as easily as this amendment addressing taxion of household incomes typical of 2 working nurses or doctors.

So if I work really hard and buy a Nintendo Switch does that mean I have to share it with a neighbor’s kids who can’t afford one? It’s like that scene in “Dr. Zhivago” when Zhivago returns home from the war and four other families are living in his family home. The stern-looking party woman says “this is more just”.

If you’re looking for someone to take you seriously on what may be legit concerns, you should deal in reality. I’m certain you think it’s no big deal that Trump “doesn’t know David Duke” and see it as innocent, meanwhile you want to accuse Harris of leading a commie charge when her husband is probably worth more than this entire comments section. Perhaps someone from Fox or the journal might ask her to define equality of outcomes. She may be a Stalin in the making, or she may be saying that equality of opportunity results in equality of an outcome… Read more »
