John Kass: “Have Laptop, Will Travel,” and the Demise of The Chicago Tribune

"There was another question to ask, but they don’t dare ask it: Why would someone like me, who loved Chicago and loved it so much to move back into the city just as many of our friends were moving out, ever think about leaving the place I was born?"

The Trib’s vindictive little feature on a former coworker sounds like something from a school newspaper, a school paper without a faculty advisor.

And meanwhile they have had nothing about the Hunter Biden laptop scandals. Nothing since a column a couple years ago about the lie that the laptop was a Russian plant.

I don’t see how “newspapers” like the Fibune, Slum Tmes and the NY Times stay in business. They’re expensive and constantly tell their readers that their ancestors were horrible nasty people. Who buys enough copies of these rags to keep them a going concern?

I wonder about that. Also who are the potential customers that companies reach when advertising in these rags?

NY Times has pivoted to a national audience that pays $$$ for a subscription. It’s the paper of record for leftists who actively seek out disinformation and CIA agitprop.

The trib and scum times are nearing the end of their existence, as reflected by subscriptions, website traffic and advertising dollars.

When we called to cancel after Alden took over, we were offered $0.99/month for both delivery AND online access.

We declined – we have better things to do with $0.99.
