Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot posted this on Twitter Saturday:

“We can’t address systemic racism, inequality and injustice without having hard conversations,” she said. “As you’re connecting with close family and friends virtually, here are some suggestions on how to get the conversation started.”

Linked here are the suggestions she offered. Judge for yourselves.

Does anyone have a photo of that bug-eyed fool wearing a dress? Democrats…WAKE UP! It is not your dad’s Party anymore. Keep voting for corrupt, stupid morons and you will only get what you deserve. When will that sink in?

Yeah sure. My family gets to see and hear every day about killings, shootings and carjackings. Mobs of disrespectful jackasses downtown getting in gunfights at high end stores and on and on. There is always a common denominator. You want me to actually start that discussion at my dinner table ? It’s all I can do to NOT talk about racial stuff. Its all I can do to try and put a happy face on the news we hear every day.

I am in my 70’s. I have never once in my life had the urge to steal someone’s car. I was 22 yrs old when Pres. Johnson’s great society legislation changed everything for the better. Billions of tax $$$ have been thrown into the black community to produce the murder and carjacking rates we see today.

Why does Lightfoot need people to have conversations about inequality? She controls the budget. It’s up to her who gets what. If she wants a fed bailout then she can forget about that. I was watching a you-tube vid “Why chicago’s public school system is broken, pt.2” . The vid says schools in the areas where the black people live get less resources than the white areas. Maybe that’s because voters pay colossal property tax in the richer white areas. The comments demolish the video, especially one guy who says the problem is that black politicians rely on getting black… Read more »

I thought we had this conversation already led by Obama and Holder. My god if those two couldn’t fix it Lightfoot has no chance.

The question is one of competence, families, and virtue.

That’s why we hear about the boogeyman and this magic word, and not about those.

Several decades ago in the late 20th century, I attended a conference at The Palmer House. Since the featured speaker was Jesse Jackson, I passed to sit in the lobby doing some work. Soon four male POCs sat down to hee-haw about Jesse upstairs “givin’ it to Da Man.” Even Jesse’s entourage couldn’t be bothered to listen to his stock speech. Nothing’s changed since Booker T. Washington remarked at the start of the 20th century how a certain class milks “injustice” for the money. The more things change, the more they’re the same.

Honestly, the Mayor is LGBT and black, the top cop is black, the Cook County Chief judge is black, we have had a black President for 8 years. None of these would be possible if our country or the City of Chicago was racist. Some of the issues are systematic poverty, the crime spiral in Chicago, businesses not willing to invest in Chicago, and an unfair tax burden on minorities (parking tickets, red light cameras, city vehicle tax, sales tax, etc). The solution is to create economic opportunities in the city and Illinois, and the start to that is lowering… Read more »

Europeans are human so they can be corrupted like all men, but everyone wants to live in european civilizations, for whatever the reason. All of those people must be “racist.” LOL, you can’t make this stuff up.

So let me get this right………? It is 2020 and we elected a Mayor in the City of Chicago who is Black, a Female and Gay and she wants us to have dinner conversation about Racism, Inequality and injustice. WTF? Why not start a dinner conversation on how to rid Illinois of SCUMBAG POLITICIANS!! Not that is a conversation every tax payer in City of Chicago and the State of Illinois can relate to!

Whenever POCs[persons of color] start the “conversation”[lecture] gambit on PONCs[persons of no color], it’s time to snooze. PONCs are not permitted to ask why POCs don’t follow the advice of the late Walter Williams about how to act in a civil manner. As for Lightfoot, the foul-mouthed harpy from Massillon, OH, time to hang it up. How much is this foolish post costing the City of Chicago? If engaging in these phony “conversations” adds to Chicago’s 2020 kill rate – let’s reach 800 dead by Thursday, Dec. 31st. – will Chicago or Cook County compensate the family of the deceased?… Read more »

” Mayor Lightfood suggests…” start this in any tavern/ginmill in the chitty and it would be tossed into the street in seconds. Maybe it will work for Lori and her wife, but not in my house or with my family and friends, complete bull nuggets.

This is just diversion by Lori to take away from the complete and total failure that Chicago is and how she has allowed the democrat voters feral predators to take over Chicago and make it totally unsafe. She has to go. She must be removed.

As a white middle-aged male, if I tried to engage a female or minority coworker in the ‘TWH Conversation Starters’ I would quickly be turned into HR for creating a ‘hostile work environment’.

The woke say they want conversation and dialogue. Their actions show that they want monologue only.

They are too fragile for real dialog, that’s why this article starts out with making a bunch of “rules” first on what kind of talking is allowed. Putting a few of these snowflakes in a VFW hall bar with a group of regulars unafraid to speak their mind would be much more productive and educational for them.

Yes. That’s where cancel culture comes in. No “conversation” allowed that deviates from the woke narrative.

As much as I can’t stand Mayor Lightweight and the entire corrupt Chicago political machine, I will have to give credit for them trying to do something to address race. (Although my suspicion is this is another corrupt scheme to payoff various community leaders across the city). Will this approach work to remove the color barriers across nieghborhoods? probably not… But is this really needed? I am not a social anthropologist or professional, so my theory is people seek to connect with others like them. Therefore, white catholics will tend to group with others white catholics, jews with other jewish,… Read more »

While I agree with your assumption that people tend to want to associate with those they see as similar to themselves your examples smack of a racial discrimination tone maybe more than you intended. I mention that because as a reminder here its not been legal for many years now for real estate agents to steer home buyers to places where the immediate population is predominantly the same racially as the buyer, something that may well have made sense innocently or not to any such sales agent. So, in modern times one has to be cautious sometimes about what is… Read more »

Tact in expressing opinions is always a good thing. Caution in expressing thoughts is a different thing entirely. If one party to a conversation must be cautious, while the other party may express any negative opinions with impunity, you will not have a very productive conversation.

“Racism” is so old and outdated. The nes ism is Covidism that is used to shut businesses, make people unemployed and a financial disaster applied equally to the general masses.
