“Gender surgery” is simp!y *cosmetic* surgery – like a facelift or a tummy tuck or a boob job. Taxpayers should *not* be on the hook for one penny of such “vanity surgery”… any more than they should pay for a drag queen’s outfit or a pervert’s sex toys
What Democratic leaders are really angry about is that federal funding might/will be cut for gender affirming care in the federal government’s FY 2026 budget (and possibly the FY 2025 budget since the current continuing resolution ends December 20th). Much like the Roe v. Wade case there is no federal nexus here and it’s up to each state to decide what they want and what they can afford. If the state wants to fund this care, they can tax the people of Illinois to pay for it….something the taxpayers of Illinois are getting tired of as evidenced by their votes… Read more »

Oh the drama and pearl clutching by Dems when no threat exists. What a sorry lot they are. Pretty sure the overwhelming majority of Americans don’t care if someone is transgender, they simply want common sense to be applied. They don’t want to pay for someone’s surgery, they don’t want transgenders competing in sports and they don’t want it promoted in grade schools. Adults can self mutilate all you want, but leave the rest of us out of it.
Adults should not be able to mutilate themselves either. Because they go straight for the kids. What is the evidence they go straight for the kids? It’s everywhere, the trans people went straight for the kids! It’s in Kindergarten now!
