Same old story, pay hiking proposal even though pensions are underfunded.
Hiking pay will hike pension contributions.
But employer pension contributions are already unaffordable so the County hiked sales taxes by 1%.
(The 1% is the absolute value, the percentage increase is much higher).
Did she even bother to submit a pension impact analysis of the proposed pay hike.
They want to have their cake (pay hikes) and eat it too (no reductions to existing pensions).
Cook County employees contribute to either the Cook County Pension Fund or the Cook County Forest Preserve Pension Fund.
