Rauner on Tuesday sent a memo to lawmakers, asking them to not overturn his veto of the union arbitration bill which would allow an arbitrator to decide labor talks between the state and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), its largest employee union.

The bill mentioned in the article is Senate Bill 1229 (SB 1229) in the 99th General Assembly. Illinois Policy Institute’s Illinois Rising radio show discussed the bill in their August 9, 2015 episode, and Rauner mentions the bill by number at the 13:00 minute mark in the show. Looking at the Illinois Sausuage Factory website, http://www.ilga.gov, SB 1229 was introduced as creating the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Act on February 11, 2015 by Senator David Koehler.
