It’s no exaggeration to say Chicago exists because it’s a transportation center, located in the middle of the country, at the tip of the Great Lakes and not too far from the Mississippi River. But the value of those natural resources will diminish if the city of Chicago and state of Illinois don’t spend what’s needed to leverage that advantage on airport, railroad, highway and related infrastructure.
