The lack of public outrage is not so amazing when you consider that CPS is a political organization whose business is to not educate children (or protect them, God forbid) but to serve as a funding source for way too many entitled teachers and administrators and as a patronage farm for Rahm and fellow travelers. In addition, parents are afraid to complain too loudly, as teachers and administrators and politicos will make sure they or their kids pay for breaking the omerta. A set of state lawmakers want to extend CPS’ current school closing moratorium to February 1, 2027 – the same year CPS is set to transition to a fully-elected school board.
