Both Illinois and Louisiana are leaders in political corruption.
If McQueary had written the answer to the current fiscal mess in Illinois is tax hikes the same critics would have applauded her.
Promise now, pay later…unfunded pension and retiree healthcare liabilities.
Money now, pay later…bond debt.
Kick the can, hide and seek, do not tell the taxpayer the whole story thereby deceiving the taxpayers.

Rahm, Lang and others are doing what they do best – attacking the messenger.
The realities are undeniably and stunningly horrific but they are desperate for the citizenry to believe that it’s not all that unusual a situation and is manageable with minimal pain.
It’s not.

Pittrader, you’re exactly right. Up until a couple years ago they were confused and inconsistent about pensions and other things. Their reporters still make regular errors, but they are better than most and not partisan. But the editorial writers are dead on now.
