I’ve had this conversation with neighbors, and they looked at me, from their comfortable lives, like I’m NUTS! As someone who enjoyed the fishing that once was State Line Power plant and Gary’s Nipsco plant both closed, as well as the many cooling lakes about Illinois, plants that were built when America’s population was sub-200million, I’ve been watching this closely. A few months ago, I did a simple AI search of how many plants Illinois had in 2000 as compared to now and it’s not good. As I said, those plants were built when America had significantly less populace than… Read more »

The blame for this completely avoidable ‘Man-Caused Disaster’ lies squarely on JB the Hutt and his Climate Religion devotees.

It’s almost as if the democrats are trying to make everything worse. Oh wait, they are because they hate America.

If JB could just take some time off with his Trump vendetta, he could concentrate on things of importance to the citizena of Illinois,

I have a question. What is the advantage of having data centers in populated areas versus the “middle of nowhere”? My first thought was locating data centers or crypto mining facilities in the desert. Then realized Alaska or a similar locale might be a better choice for cooling and abundant water supplies.

When I looked at several locations, there were at cross roads of electric power inter-state lines, ie. reliable power sources

Looks like many of these are built in the middle of nowhere and still have reliable power sources. On the other hand, many are being built right next to residential neighborhoods. A video titled “I Live 500 Feet From A Bitcoin Mine. My Life Is Hell.”, describes the high noise level taking over an entire town. Why bother with the red tape, lawsuits, higher property taxes, etc. when you can build rural.

As expected, the green solution won’t make the grade and get used to your power dimming about 5 pm every day. If you have a generator, get used to the underserved vandalizing it and your lit home because they don’t. We’ll become the Third World pukehole promised by Obama sooner or later.

With all the regulations on Nukes it would probably take 12-15 years to build, so they better start today.

Well Pritzker garnered his save the planet green energy headlines for his Presidential run while the Illinois citizenry are left holding the bag of costs arising from it all. Naturally the free stuff army will be insulated from the costs via assorted giveaways such as the LIHEAP program that will assure multitudes of voters for the Democrat party Pritzker organization. Just another day in the impoverished Illinois where voters are too lazy to get informed and actually go vote.

Free phones and pension sweeteners are not the voter motivation Illinois needs, but currently has. It is all about free stuff for the grifter vote in Illinois, taxpayers be damned.

The EV scam has finally imploded on Ford who is posting a $19 billion adjustment and will no longer make the EV 150 pickup. Solar and wind just cannot provide the steady flow of electricity and never will. Another green energy scam swallowed hook, line and sinker by the sky is falling crowd. Nukes work really well but that line falls on deaf ears. When the lights go out I figure the finger pointing will be epic.

That’s what we get when we have people in charge of Illinois who are not skilled enough to handle large-scale projects responsibly, don’t care as long as they line their pockets, or both.

We could vote in people who are more ethical, but they might be stupid, too. It would be cool to elect people who have all the right boxes checked, but it’s hard to know their credentials and makeup with certainty before voting. Have you ever bought a five-star rated product on Amazon that turned out to be greatly overrated?

Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon on AM560: Why We Need to “Relentlessly” Make the Blue State-Red State Case

Glennon raised the stakes of the moment in broader civilizational terms: “This election in Illinois is not about the usual pedestrian issues… it’s about nothing less than whether Western civilization survives in our democratic republic of America because [the left], just on the open border alone, will destroy the country, and now they’re bringing in the jihadists, frankly, into the party.” Audio and summary linked here.Audio and summary linked here.
