Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.
That’s a timely distraction from the fact that many residents showed up in miserable weather to voice their opposition to the data center being forced upon them in a meeting that ran so long ( and solved nothing ) that the Joliet mayor nodded off. It’s kind of fitting, really, because the powers that be have already made their minds up and might as well take a snooze while the residents complain because the city is shoving more and more shady CHI policies in the shady CHI fashion every day.
Insanity, thy name is Hyundai. When the generous incentives paid with confiscated taxpayer funds run out, so will Hyundai.
