Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon on AM560: Why We Need to “Relentlessly” Make the Blue State-Red State Case
Glennon raised the stakes of the moment in broader civilizational terms: “This election in Illinois is not about the usual pedestrian issues… it’s about nothing less than whether Western civilization survives in our democratic republic of America because [the left], just on the open border alone, will destroy the country, and now they’re bringing in the jihadists, frankly, into the party.” Audio and summary linked here.Audio and summary linked here.
New Trier High School made national headlines nine years ago as a “canary in a coal mine” for political indoctrination in public schools. The canaries lived.
Among the consequences of economic growth that badly lags national averages are billions of lost revenue every year. Yet denial reigns in Illinois, fueling the vicious cycle of demand for higher taxes.
IL Democrats are getting desperate. Now they’re recruiting criminals along with illegals to vote for them. Maybe because Democrats are criminals?
If you have committed a crime, found guilty and have been removed from society and placed in prison for a period of time – whatever that is…you forfeit your right to vote in elections till you are released. End of story.
A case can be made that imprisoned people should be allowed to vote, but mail-in ballots, especially submitted thru an institution, offer great opportunities for fraud. Maybe instead the prisoners should vote in the jurisdiction where they physically are held. That’d have fun political implications.
Of course the pro crime party want the criminals to vote.
If they are Americans, they should have a right to vote. The $ that tax payors pay to house them barely get spent on the prisoners. Many of the items provided example bedding is so old it is like sleeping on bare metal beds no padding left. They give size large undergarments to people that are 3-5 xl tall. Many of the things provided do not fit the inmates but are forced to wear or they get written up. Many do not have a voice in fear of retaliation from the guards or warden. Even prisoners deserve rights in America.
Absolutely not. By your f’d up logic then, as Americans they have the right to own and possess guns in prison. Prison is a punishment for crimes against others. You lose your right to freedom, guns, voting etc.
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
