Not pay down debt. Not make pension contributions. Nossir. Frerich’s latest folly is to <urinate> away confiscated taxpayer funds on indigent housing, buying more votes from suburban AWFLs in an election year. If you’re a lefty like our esteemed Ratio King, you might think this is a great idea. When one looks at what these political animals pay for a square foot of residential housing, we see that they overpay by a long margin every time. Why is that? We can’t deny that private contractors pony up palm grease to move things along with regulators and local politicians. It happens.… Read more »

Lots of board and officer sinecures for union members who’ll need time off from work, at full pay. And at what winter resort will the mandatory housing seminars be held with all costs and greens fees paid by government? Construction at union scale, of course with paid apprentices and full DEI compliance. Hope for some HUD housing grants and federal pork in exchange for votes on pet light rail projects in rural Arkansas. Agricultural subsidies for pork if nobody’s looking.

If you looked at the prospectus of the fund you could probably pick a better fund with a dart. But that’s what Frerichs did but all the funds were the same, HIT.

The yield is frustration and we get a Trump v. a Biden or a Harris. California attempted a taxpayers’ union: No Go. Bad Vibes… Read more »

Mr. Syverson, when has public / private partnerships a good idea ? Is this where we are going folding in with the unions? What is the price to build one of these units. Like other projects lots of money for little return. Who is going to watch dog this venture?

Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon on AM560: Why We Need to “Relentlessly” Make the Blue State-Red State Case

Glennon raised the stakes of the moment in broader civilizational terms: “This election in Illinois is not about the usual pedestrian issues… it’s about nothing less than whether Western civilization survives in our democratic republic of America because [the left], just on the open border alone, will destroy the country, and now they’re bringing in the jihadists, frankly, into the party.” Audio and summary linked here.Audio and summary linked here.
