Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon on AM560: Why We Need to “Relentlessly” Make the Blue State-Red State Case
Glennon raised the stakes of the moment in broader civilizational terms: “This election in Illinois is not about the usual pedestrian issues… it’s about nothing less than whether Western civilization survives in our democratic republic of America because [the left], just on the open border alone, will destroy the country, and now they’re bringing in the jihadists, frankly, into the party.” Audio and summary linked here.Audio and summary linked here.
New Trier High School made national headlines nine years ago as a “canary in a coal mine” for political indoctrination in public schools. The canaries lived.
Among the consequences of economic growth that badly lags national averages are billions of lost revenue every year. Yet denial reigns in Illinois, fueling the vicious cycle of demand for higher taxes.
Personally, I am overjoyed to see this bunch of hypocrites in both these organization/schools and so-called prestigious colleges put on notice. Why were they allowed to continue to discriminate and still received tax free status? If there ever was a neutral Civil Rights division they would have and should have been sued into oblivion, let alone continue tax exempt. Everybody happy with our slide into mediocracy? Good luck.
Big issue … but it’s a microcosm in the battle about cost vs empathy (or pretend empathy). Immigration law non-enforcement and bail reform and virtually every U.S. college budget. AND polarized elections assure that legislative or judicial solutions are unavailable. In this case we observe the possibility of more tax revenue for unfettered federal spending. Not to mention higher tuition for the privileged few!
Liberalism kills!!
Another attack by CTU on private schools. Maybe if CTU would put any effort into actually teaching students instead of being a political activist group, public education would improve.
Affirmative action always reeked of discrimination; the bigotry of low expectations.
