Among the consequences of economic growth that badly lags national averages are billions of lost revenue every year. Yet denial reigns in Illinois, fueling the vicious cycle of demand for higher taxes.
Talei, like many, voted to continue the “ reimagining of America “ which puts a smiley face on the reality of turning America into a Third World country and seems to be surprised by the outcome. Junk lying around everywhere, people selling food on the street they cooked in a repurposed shopping cart, bars on every door and window- it’s all coming, but keep voting as you did Tuesday.
As someone who used to work on the westside of the city the problems of crime, drugs, prostitution and fly dumping have been going on since the 1970’s and beyond. Two things. One the neighborhood doesn’t care. Most of the residents don’t care. City leaders don’t care. Littering is rampant and you can watch locals drop whatever they have in their hand and have ate it or drank it or opened it and just drop it on the ground with a waste can 5 ft away from them.
