It’s funny. Hammond IN. Because when you think about spending hundreds of dollars on a sporting event, taking the family out, tail gating, being a fan and supporting team and having a good time…it is always Hammond IN that comes to mind. The murder capital of the US. Excellent choice. It is a telling statement though, the Bears believe Hammond IN is better than Chicago IL. Incredible.

Sad that the Bears have to even consider moving. But the murder capital of the world is right where the Bears are now. Chicago has the most homicides in the country. By far. And some of the highest taxes. If they don’t kill you – they will take all your money. Legalized mugging.

This info basically provides nothing new. Far, far far from a commitment to any site in Indiana. Looks to me like the Bears haven’t progressed much in the last three years. And for that matter, they haven’t progressed much since their aborted attempt on the West Side way back in 1987.

It takes a while to finance a stadium. If IL cares, perhaps putting the city and CPS into bankruptcy to clear the balance sheets world be a step forward. The taxpayers seem to prefer local football to anything the governments do or propose. Clear out the junk, put former employees on unemployment or welfare then rebuild and rehire the competent ones. The deep state needs a wake-up call!

Well we know Jim Bob will blame President Trump and BJ will blame Nixon.

Any bets that the Bears would change their tune if the state built their stadium for free on the site where one of America’s premier horse racing tracks once stood, now seemingly destroyed for nothing? Arlington Heights has already vetoed the ideas of multiple apartment housing units ( probably with an eye on the mandated 1/3 that would be Section Eight ) and truck terminals there, at least for now.

The State of Illinois legislature and Governor could still, at the last second, decide to punish Illinois tax payers again by agreeing to just your statement. Using tax dollars to pay for the stadium in Arlington Heights and making it free or nearly free for the Bears. Were I a betting person, I’d bet those conversations have been had and are taking place now. A deal like that would commit 5 generations of tax payers…but hey, the majority of the voting public and our state government is made up of morons and thieves, so I’d expect nothing else.

Everyone complains about taxpayer money for football stadiums but that’s what it takes to keep an NFL football team. Even the Roman government build the Colosseum while the events inside were funded almost entirely by private funds…

Using taxpayer money for football stadiums as least generates a return to the economy by increased traffic to hotels, restaurants and museums. More than we can say about our investment in teachers pensions. Don’t even get a respectable education anymore.

Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon on AM560: Why We Need to “Relentlessly” Make the Blue State-Red State Case

Glennon raised the stakes of the moment in broader civilizational terms: “This election in Illinois is not about the usual pedestrian issues… it’s about nothing less than whether Western civilization survives in our democratic republic of America because [the left], just on the open border alone, will destroy the country, and now they’re bringing in the jihadists, frankly, into the party.” Audio and summary linked here.Audio and summary linked here.
