New Trier High School made national headlines nine years ago as a “canary in a coal mine” for political indoctrination in public schools. The canaries lived.
Among the consequences of economic growth that badly lags national averages are billions of lost revenue every year. Yet denial reigns in Illinois, fueling the vicious cycle of demand for higher taxes.
Note the commentary that the portion sold had to be sold to “balance” the budget. That’s just another illustration of how phony government accounting is. They count borrowed money as if it’s income. Digging deeper into the whole means you are “balancing” the budget.
Fund accounting, used by governments and non-profit agencies. It’s a complete scam that no business would be allowed to get away with.
Throw in the market pricing as well. That makes the hole even bigger.
