Among the consequences of economic growth that badly lags national averages are billions of lost revenue every year. Yet denial reigns in Illinois, fueling the vicious cycle of demand for higher taxes.
Do we think the city has access to enough collection lawyers to wait around clogged courts with sketchy judges and unruly juries to gain revenues that exceed costs? Plus imagine the volume of wrongful discharge suits if the city decides to fire the delinquents. Likely the word is getting around so that increasing numbers of public servants will begin ignoring bills. these city employees need to be mandated payroll deductions for the fines which they owe
Yup, in the real world these debts would be sold to collection services every year. Just more evidence that public employees are all about grift in Chicago. And then Pritzker acts like a hero by having state taxpayers give these freeloaders bailouts, reinforcing their irresponsible behavior.
As Leona Helmsley said, “Only the little people pay taxes”. The same thing applies to fines to be paid by a public employee.
Lets not forget mayor Braindead and puppet master Stacey were part of the scofflaw brigade. This city sucks
