Among the consequences of economic growth that badly lags national averages are billions of lost revenue every year. Yet denial reigns in Illinois, fueling the vicious cycle of demand for higher taxes.
Six years later and the Crain’s propaganda machine still blames it on covid. Not Lightfoot, Johnson. Pritkzer, crime, taxes, illegal immigration. Good luck.
Homeowners must love it because they are about to re-elect all the same mopes that put them in this predicament in the first place. The stupidity is strong in Illinoisans and they are proud of it.
Data centers are probably last hope for Illinois to bring in any business and JB and the Democrats are now killing that.
If, and it is a big if, corporations came back – the taxpayers won’t see a reduction in their property taxes. Once the goose is fat, you can’t feed it less. The politicians all talk about making Illinois affordable while voting for increase after increase in spending budgets.
In general, the art of government consists of taking as much money as possible from one class of citizens to give to another.
