The church explains that “this installation reimagines the nativity as a scene of forced family separation, drawing direct parallels between the Holy Family’s refugee experience and contemporary immigration detention practices.”
This is so ignorant of history. To start with this “church”, and others don’t seem to understand that Jesus, Mary & Joseph were Roman subjects. They were NOT immigrants of any kind.

Nice to see a real church that understands Christianity and doesn’t just make noise about it.

How in the world can they call themselves a church? They’re are nothing but Satan’s right hand. Sick, sick, sick.
So apparently you like all the illegals coming. Here taking our money? We have enough crime. And most can’t even read road signs and idiots giving them CDLs.

Every article like this makes me want to renounce my birthplace and hometown. Not the city I grew up in. The residents forget that the city was founded by a very conservative Episcopal Church, and that includes the formerly stellar Northwestern University. I’m surprised that Gordon Theological Seminary still exists in that town.

I worked for the city of Evanston for nearly 38 years. I couldn’t be more happy to be out of there – it was like being trapped in a Disney park run by liberals.

Interesting. Didn’t this event take place at a time of the census when people were required to return to the place of their birth? Why then would there be ICE agents and what is this about forced family separation? Historical revisionism at its finest as only Evanston Illinois can do it while the sad thing is many in Illinois believe every bit of it.
No, you are wrong. The refugee experience doesn’t relate to the census, it’s about Jesus fleeing to Egypt to escape King Herod’s plan to kill him. (Matthew 2:13-15). Progressives today very loosely equate Jesus fleeing the state’s persecution in Judea, a client state of the Romans, to refugee status. However, he fled to Egypt, which at the time was also of the Roman Empire, so it’s more like he moved from Illinois to Florida to escape oppressive taxes. The analogy goes completely off the rails however because it doesn’t make any sense. ICE is not killing anyone much as King… Read more »

Nothing is out of bounds or tasteless to these people. These folks should re-imagine themselves out of this Country. This is a stunt to gain visibility and clicks for their organization (not a church), it is a fund raising stunt for the weak minded. The more over the top the better for them.

And terminally libtarded Evanston, a hotbed of abortion rights and other things not condoned in any Bible anywhere, has the nerve to summon the image of a creche to make their point, while their man child mayor has a fit over Northwestern rightfully being taken to task for allowing attacks on Jewish people by the Hamas cheerleading squad that they enabled.
Nearly all of Protestantism is fake now. What little that remained of Luther’s protests has been flayed and skinned by heretical and apostatical progressives to be worn as trophies.

I feel bad for any person that picks up the Bible and reads it , completely! and believes what this church is pushing out as the true word of Jesus Christ. Run as far as you can from this church. Find a true Bible believing Church.

So enforcing our country’s laws = terror?? What twaddle!
The apostle Paul said we should obey our country’s laws. Are these communists trying to jump start the Second Civil War?
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Yes, that’s probably why they left out the three wisemen, who would be doing a good fact checking.
