Among the consequences of economic growth that badly lags national averages are billions of lost revenue every year. Yet denial reigns in Illinois, fueling the vicious cycle of demand for higher taxes.
Why would they not want to report total outstanding debt? It will only drive up the cost of borrowing. I already warned my advisors to keep a very sharp eye on the few IL municipal bonds I have. Knowing total outstanding debt is important, not just how much you owe next year. Wait until Chicago homeowners start looking at the total long term obligations for the POB’s and other bonds sold in the past.

Sounds right for Illinois. The less stringent the audit requirements, the harder it will be to determine how bad of a job Illinois is doing.
So allow more embezzlement to be undetected.
How do these people show their faces ? They should be ashamed ,they’re thieves.
I’m sure all those liberals in places like Winnetka, Wilmette, Glenview, Park Ridge and Lake Forest will be more than happy to do their fair share. All places with beautifully liberal NIMBY’s. It would be hilarious to watch. Move a few hundred hood rats to Wilmette and start the video cameras. Entertainment for the whole family.

I’ve got a cousin who lives in Park Ridge. He says Park Ridge is not a D+70 community like Winnetka, Wilmette, Glenview, or Lake Forest. Instead, he describes it as a D+20 town that still flies the American flag. In contrast, D+70 communities like Glenview tend to fly LGBTQ+ pride flags instead. Illinois Dems at every level are working overtime to spoil places like Park Ridge.
Here’s an example from a couple of years ago in which the City of Chicago pushed high rise “affordable housing ” right next door to Park Ridge.
