Mayoral candidate Giannoulias calls for $22 minimum wage – Crain’s

Alexi GiannouliasThe proposal is the clearest signal yet Giannoulias does not intend to cede the progressive lane in the mayor’s race if, as anticipated, Mayor Brandon Johnson runs for a second term, but stops short of calls for a $25 minimum wage championed by some Democrats — including Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton in her successful campaign for Senate.

Great idea. If $22 / hour is good. $50 would be better. If you are going to train wreck your economy, do it quickly not a little bit at a time. But the demofilth know, the frogs in the pot are more passive if the heat is raised a little every so often.

Airhead! He has no clue of the problems the city of Chicago gaces. Chicagoans should demand better and Giannoulias ain’t it!

Chicagoans are only concerned with bread and circuses. They are not cognitive humans.

It looks like Crain’s is already calling the Senate race before anyone has even voted.

Anyone that thinks voting for “ the Bankruptor” will be a significant change from the several past disastrous mayors is sadly mistaken. This one fell all over himself to streamline the ease with which illegals could get drivers licenses so as to give them a foothold in IL. Hir rhetoric leading up to the election has now shifted from knocking Trump/ ICE to all the wonderful social services programs he intends to hand out like Pritzker, Preckwinkle et al, that feel working for a living instead of existing on handouts is an outmoded form of living in IL.

Alex would be better off if he and his best buddy
Obama shot some hoops at the new Obama
Mausoleum that needs money or it will soon
start deteriorating into a pile of rubble.
no money for maintanence, it seems a small
sum of about 350 million is needed.

Get Arne Duncan, another stiff in there too. Arne, who grifted 60K out of the busted CPS system when he disappeared.

$22/hour will drive a lot of small businesses and restaurants out of business. And, who will pay for the increase? Cost will get passed on to the consumers and then the Democrats can moan about an affordability crisis. It won’t lead to a “more robust middle class” but a middle class paying more in a myriad of ways.

$22 to work in fast food? This will disincentivize people to gain more education and skills to move into better jobs.

Leave it to Broadway Bank’s employee of the year, Alexi Gofoolallofus (D -Haya doin’), to figure out a way to open up more commercial property in Chicago. By raising costs to unsustainable levels for businesses, those businesses can have their storefront signs replaced with ‘For Lease’ signs – the number one sign we already see in Chicago storefront windows. Not as glamorous as a bank bust-out, but the effects are much the same. Leave it to the serial knuckleheads at Crain’s to write puff pieces about these lefty schemes. When Gofoolallofus and the bubble-headed CCP agent Stratton are finished ransacking… Read more »

Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon on AM560: Why We Need to “Relentlessly” Make the Blue State-Red State Case

Glennon raised the stakes of the moment in broader civilizational terms: “This election in Illinois is not about the usual pedestrian issues… it’s about nothing less than whether Western civilization survives in our democratic republic of America because [the left], just on the open border alone, will destroy the country, and now they’re bringing in the jihadists, frankly, into the party.” Audio and summary linked here.Audio and summary linked here.
