OK, Governor. Here’s how you can improve the SAFE-T Act – CWB Chicago

"The shift away from cash bail was intended to replace wealth-based detention with a more just system. That goal is important. But it is equally important to acknowledge that cash bail was, in practice, also used as a detention tool in many cases where judges believed public safety required it. The seriousness of a charge does not always reflect the seriousness of the danger."

The only thing to “fix” the Safe T Act is repeal it.
