Illinois households earning the median U.S. income of $79,004 will face the highest taxes in the nation. Those taxes will be $4,472 higher than the national average, or nearly 52 percent more.
The state is a self-licking ice cream cone. It raises taxes to hire more new state employees. And then taxes the state employees to hire more new state employees, ad infinitum

There is no amount of taxation that will ever satisfy the bottomless greed of Democrats.

Florida sounds peachy on that map in linked article but when you factor in 8-10K a year for homeowners insurance all of a sudden the grass isn’t greener on the other side.
You don’t think property insurance in Florida will continue to go higher and higher? Not only that, insurance companies don’t care if the costs rise so high that people no longer buy their product and lose their homes. This state’s elected leaders are pigs at a trough. I work to make my life better for my family. I am not here to serve and fund the teachers pensions for an education that is an afterthought to them.

Someone has to pay for the ever loyal Democrat Party voters’ rewards—the teachers, the local government employees, the governmental retirees. These groups vote in every election. Given their wage levels, their benefit plans including pension, they don’t mind paying more in taxes as they can afford them. Perhaps if more people who don’t participate in the rewards system voted, things would change. Until then, pay or move.

If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
