“We don’t have a lot of food or a real shelter, but the bus is warm for the night,” Wilfrian Roja Rosales said. “We sleep on the floor and chairs waiting for the opportunity to have shelter space for us single men.”

With CTA ridership still significantly down, CTA can repurpose its idle buses for migrant housing, claim its housed migrants as “new transit customers”. Win-win!

Article in Newsweek says migrants are leaving NY for other states and #1 destination is IL. Over 2600 plane tickets issued for IL. So BJ’s plan to limit buses won’t stop migrants coming from NY. Good move by Mayor Adams.

Hmm, maybe the CTA could now collect lodging fees from the Feds since the covid money has run out.

IL and Chicago better get what funding they can from Biden this year, because if Trump’s elected, it seems he won’t be into funding for illegal immigrants unless it’s for deportation.

I don’t believe Trump will be elected. First of all, I think there’s only a 1 in 5 chance Trump could legitimately win for various different reason. He threaded the needle in 2016 before Election day turned into ‘ballot harvesting season’. None of those states have gone Republican since (except GA, but not AZ, WI, PA). And if Trump does win, they’re not going to let him take office.
