Speaking about affordable housing and economic development projects, Mayor Brandon Johnson said, “There are very few levers that I have as mayor in Chicago to generate revenue, one of which of course is property taxes. Eighty percent of the revenue generated from property taxes is going to pay off pension debt, pensions that were not paid into by previous administrations.”

Mayor warns Chicago could face financial crisis.
So, I guess that means there’s no financial crisis in Chicago now. Got it.

Maybe Johnson could cut spending on illegals and other wasteful spending. Fund necessary spending, not far left spending. And he could cut all those committees to employ his friends. Look at the consultants report on the budget and implement the recommendations.

When you tax Illinois residents, then send the money to retirees living in Florida , this states economy shrinks.
Illinois needs a 10% service tax on all pensions paid to out of state residents.
Put it to a vote 😉
Michigan did this with their real-estate taxes x2 and no-one voted against it. (that could)
Michigan charging higher property taxes for property owned within their own state is far different than taxing someone that has left the state. You can’t tax pensions anywhere in this country once they leave the state. This is federal law. Not sure why you continue to post this lie over and over and over and over.
Try actually learning something instead of wasting everyones time on something that is illegal.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
BANKRUPTCY NOW!

Can’t do that.
