March on the DNC plans Chicago’s ‘largest mobilization for Palestine’ – Chicago Reader

A banner hands on a wall that reads "March on the DNC 2024. Stand with Palestine. Fight for the people's agenda."“The focus of our coalition and the protest in August is Palestine, yes,” said Hatem Abudayyeh, national chair of the U.S. Palestinian Community Network. “But this conference has folks here from all across the U.S., representing all the social sectors and movements who want the Democrats to be accountable to the communities that have always gotten them elected.”

Um… between the river and the sea exist both Palestine and Israel, not hateful to me, just a fact. I support peaceful protests and ANY SPEECH that is uttered at that protest. Just because someone else is uncomfortable with someones speech does not make it illegal, this is still America last I remember. A few months ago or so Wirepoints had an article on free speech, we’ll see if they put their money where their mouth is when that speech offends them. The speech and any violence are two separate things.

Yep. agreed. . Might not be hateful to you – understood. It isn’t to me either, but I was born in the US and raised catholic, so up until a few months ago, that statement didn’t mean anything to me either. But that statement “from the river to the sea” is apparently used by Hamas Terrorists and others to call for the extermination of the Jewish people (and for that matter the rest of us infidels). Doesn’t the First amendment cover, as you say, any speech uttered at a peaceful protest, as long as it does not invoke violence or… Read more »

The price of Freedom is not Free.
I Believe in the First Amendment applies to everyone.

I may not like what PPF or Wire Points says, but I do believe they have a right to say it.

Free speech comes with responsibility. We are free to peacefully protest, state our opinion and work to set the direction of this country, government, etc. The focus of these people should be on protesting the direction of their government and working to change the policies and actions that they do not like. Their first amendment right doesn’t allow them to infringe on other rights to exist. The chant Death to America, From the River to the Sea, and other such vile statements, said and written on signs incite violence and are personal attacks on fellow citizens. Fighting with the Police… Read more »

If Chicago’s Palestinian residents want to affect Palestinian politics and ensure safety of Gaza residents, then they should return to Gaza, and participate in its governance to rid Gaza of Hamas party’s violent agenda. Oct 2023 attack on Israeli civilians is inexcusable. Calls by protesters for “genocide” from “river to the sea” is inexcusable hate speech. Blocking highways and bridges and airports is inexcusable disruption of commerce unrelated to Israel or Gaza. Chicagoans, and their elected politicians, have zero influence over international politics, or over other countries’ defense policies. Protesters are defending extreme violence as political action, and performing obvious… Read more »

It is also those that chant – “Death to America”. Sorry folks, that’s hate speech and should not be tolerated. That is what the Iranians chanted way back in 1979 when they took over the embassy in Iran and took hostages for 444 days when Carter was president. Their point of view has not changed…it is simply closer now. When people chant and say the words…we should take them at their friggin word. We are far too tolerant. They hate America and wish us all Death. This is not protest. This is chanting for the end of our country and… Read more »

I really don’t expect much trouble at the convention, but if there’s one group that can cause chaos, it’s this one. I have no sympathy for them given they have chosen a dangerous dance partner and are passionately committed to wiping the Jewish population from the face of the earth. Still, if they want to ruin Joe’s coronation, I’ll watch.

The ” One Group ” , is the same group with different costumes and signage I’m sorry to say. They will cause problems in both chicago and milwaukee, or where ever they are needed.

The members of that wildly successful labor organization, the people who teach your children, will lead the parade.

So they just reformat the BLM terrorist logo for the Hamas terrorist logo. The violent left is showing their true colors.

To tell media students to “advocate for emotions, not the facts” is dangerous for society – Wirepoints on with Jeff Daly of WZUS Decatur Radio

Ted joined Jeff Daly to discuss the university student protests erupting across the nation on the Israel/Palestine conflict, why it’s so dangerous for society if the media abandons facts in favor of narratives, why that allows government to spin away the problems like crime and financial crises, why it causes the voting public to become apathetic, and more.

A disappointing first year for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson – Wirepoints

Nearly one year ago, Chicagoans cheered Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s removal from office. In her place was Brandon Johnson, who promised a more inclusive approach to building a “better, stronger, safer Chicago.” It hasn’t turned out that way. Today, there’s little disagreement that Mayor Johnson has disappointed on most key issues. On crime. On policing. On migrants. On education. On governance. Even on foreign affairs.
