Most of the crime was committed by home grown residents, not the illegals everyone seems to want to blame for the Chitty of Chicago’s problems.

I have long contended that the root cause of crime in Chicago, and many other big cities in America, was gang turf wars for the control of narcotics distribution. I’m guessing that the closed southern border has slowed the supply of illegal narcotics coming into America. Crime reports such as todays Crime Tracker, full of negatives almost weekly for the past few months, suggests there may be some truth in my conclusions.
Now that there is a non- Soros bribed DA in Cook County, look for crime to go up as sweetheart, holistic approaches to crime and criminals fades away. Shoplifting charges, for crimes previously permissible by Lil Kim from Cabrini, are up 143% in November alone. That’s the result of not allowing a 1K threshold and 10 previous convictions before you lock up a habitual criminal.
There seems to be some measure of belief the crime statistics under-report actual crime as though that under-reporting is intentional, and perhaps that’s true. What I didn’t see is any reference to the huge percentage of calls to 911 to which there is no police response. Though I don’t recall the specific number, I believe it was reported by Wirepoints, and I recall it to have been in the range of 40% last year. How would crime get reported without a police response?

If a gun was even carried by a felon, they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I want to see if the state is serious about taking criminals and guns off the street. I have looked for this information and cannot find it so I suspect they do not prosecute the criminals.
