$1.94B Budget for Chicago Police Not Being Used ‘Effectively or Equitably:’ Commission – WTTW (Chicago)

“Preliminary evidence suggests that the Police Department is not using its budget effectively or equitably because it does not currently have a long-term, data-driven strategy to reduce violence,” according to the report from the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability. “Enormously consequential allocation decisions appear to be made ad hoc, in reaction to daily changes in crime trends, not as part of a carefully developed strategy.”

Oh, my God.

The solution to the Chicago PD being overwhelmed with too much crime and too few officers to be able to count on a cop in the right place at the right time is to:

  1. Get more layers of “woke” bureaucracy involved in the decision process.
  2. Make the PD take officers away from their patrol duties to complete court-mandated training to instruct them in avoiding racial discrimination.
  3. Tell the PD to work smarter with what you’ve got, you don’t need more.

What a plan. I’m sure things will improver right away,,,,,,
