Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. It’s certain that more about what happened here will become available. Be interesting to read what’s said about it. Makes you wonder how common it’s become in Chicago for someone – often some pre-high school teenager – to just casually walk out of their home, or get out of their car, after having stuffed an illegally owned firearm in their waistband. Yes, anyone who believes they can handle a weapon is armed, from pre-teen on up. at the most basic level, they are concealed carrying without proper training or licensing. This is a felony. Kim Foxx has a policy to not drop gun charges against her chosen people who get caught concealed carrying without a valid CCL. She says that the felony gun charges are non-violent, and the felony will follow the arrestee for life, so she drops charges to help protect their future.
