Again with the carnival barkers? JB needs a new well to dip into.

I’m sure all the people complaining about the pension debt want JB to put all that surplus money towards pension debt instead of providing property tax rebates. Homeowners are just borrowing the $300 rebate they receive today and will need to pay it back and more. I’m sure the GOP will demand responsibility and their desire to pay down our debt. If I’m wrong, it certainly would appear that neither party is interested in fiscal responsibility.

I’m just kidding. We know that politicians won’t do the responsible thing with the money because voters don’t demand it.

JB also increased early childhood funding, MAP grants, community college funding, violence interruption while creating new programs such as PATH. Which of these enhancements do you feel he should eliminate and instead put that money towards pension debt?

All of them nixit. Until Illinois starts paying the minimum credit card payment (actuarial amount not statutory) then they should not increase social spending. Only then can the voters have an honest discussion about spending and taxation.

Its cringey, full of platitudes. This was written by a political hack, not someone civic-minded. I grew up in Socialism, every new song I had to learn and sing at Socialist holidays glorified the Soviets more, and more, and more.

This speech reminds of that deceptive, cringe-worthy, patronizing, political-activist pukefest.

From the time I became Governor until this current fiscal year, we more than doubled the funding for violence interruption, diversion, and youth employment programs to $517 million.

And yet look what happened this past year. The problem got worse.

Getting worse IS the point of the funding! The Democrat regime wants you in fear of COVID and crime. As they loot the state, raise your taxes…Wirepoints surprisingly hasn’t published the article about the Lt. Gov. focusing her attention on equity in agriculture. She basically said there are too many white farmers and they aren’t sharing the bounty with everyone in the state. She actually said this. I told you the regime was going to attack agriculture next. We know how well that worked out in Zimbabwe. https://news.yahoo.com/lt-gov-juliana-stratton-aims-214100825.html “From rural to urban to suburban — ag is at the center.… Read more »

Politicians do not solve problems, they only create the problems.

The so called “community leaders” are at the center of every problem. A lot of them talk like JB, as if money is the only solution. The fact is, a few thousand dollars a year maybe stretched to provide the same as millions or even tens of millions of dollars a year – when people are sincere in their efforts to make a difference. Think about this. Most of the millions are spent on expert advice, but more often than not the “community” itself has the experts. Also, you might donate a lot of money to your Church, which takes… Read more »

Violence prevention is like a strip club. You pay the guy (community leader) for the private room and the stripper (crime-prone person) gets a portion for her work, but once the dance is over, and there’s no more money, the dancer goes back to the pole (crime).

Craptastic Fux today has a headline: Addressing today’s top two GOP objections.

They don’t even try to hide it. They’re just pure propaganda for the ruling class. They reprint whatever the regime tells them to say. They’re state media and honestly they should label themselves as such.

We should make a concerted effort to email all of their ‘advertisers’ and put pressure on them to stop advertising. What is good for the left is good for the right.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
