Anatomy of a Class War: Chicago’s 2023 Elections – Rampant

Protesters with signs that read "Black Lives Matter" and "Defund CPD" march while reflected underneath is the Chicago skyline. "At the opening of the coming clash, all eyes are on Chicago, where the uncertainties of the city elections are proving to be a laboratory and testing ground for Democratic Party national strategy, billionaires’ ability to dominate the political field, and the left’s efforts at building institutional power.... In this electoral cycle and the next, and all to come, we must have the courage and the will to confront the bosses and their capitalist 'common sense' head on."

Thank you for making readers aware of this article as well of the existence of this magazine!
The authors have no idea of Hamiltonian economic theory nor understand the foundation of

Just read the whole thing. Reads like something you would see published in a wonderful utopia like Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua or 1920’s Russia. I guess some people don’t read much about history to know what a philosophy like this leads to.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
