Of the 20 largest cities in America, only St. Louis is more affordable now than Chicago, according to data released this month by John Burns Real Estate, a consulting firm for the homebuilding industry based in Irvine, Calif.
The firm’s forecast sees affordability staying steady for the next couple of years, while it gets harder in many major cities, including Washington, New York, Philadelphia and Seattle.
