The political action committee, dubbed One Future Illinois, could play a role as soon as this fall when Chicago begins voting for a newly elected school board.
It’s too early to track how much money poured in from Illinois. But Chicago’s donor class is signaling they’re likely to pump money into her campaign and affiliated Democratic super PACs, despite what one bundler described as potential “donor fatigue.”
They’re calling it “One Future Illinois,” and its leadership roster of business heavyweights includes some who have held prominent positions in city and state government.
Brandon Johnson and Kim Foxx play cop for the Democratic National Committee, but not for citizens of crime-plagued Chicago. The city has shown that it can enforce law and order when it chooses. It’s time for the city to do so for its long-suffering residents, instead of serving as private security and prosecutor for the Democratic Party.
The experiment included 3,000 lower-income Americans aged 21 to 40, drawn from 19 counties in the Dallas and Chicago areas. The upshot of this experiment is a reduction in work effort that, as the authors put it, “does not appear offset by other productive activities.”
Next year’s spending plan includes saving $220 million through vacancies. The teacher’s union and some parents say it incentivizes the district to leave positions open.
Chicago “journalists” would no doubt be champing at the bit for the opportunity to work their magic on a national stage: If they can do it to Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois, why can’t they do it across the nation?

The Illinois Department of Employment Security announced that unemployment increased to 5 percent. The May revised unemployment rate was 4.9 percent. The national unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in June, up slightly from the previous month. The number of unemployed workers in the state was 327,900, up over 3 percent from the prior month, and up nearly 19 percent over the same month one year ago.
“It’s one thing to express your support for a friend. It’s another thing to use your platform as a government official to prejudge a case before it’s played out. Before all the facts are known,” said Roy, who was featured in the Fox Nation documentary “Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax.”
Nearly 200 survivors have joined the lawsuit alleging sexual abuse, misconduct and negligence.
The Chicago Teachers Union has spread $1.3 million around Springfield, with nearly 3 of every 4 Democrats receiving campaign cash and nearly half of them from outside Chicago. About half of all sitting state lawmakers received CTU money between 2010 and July 23, 2024.
