“So, I asked them, so, how many of those students that are signing up and want to do this? How many are women?” Schakowsky said, adding that they told her it was at least 13 percent. “It was a low number,” she said. “And you had mentioned trying to engage more women in manufacturing. Ald. Samantha Nugent said she was originally told the city would be conducting an Accelerated Moving Event, or AME, at the Far Northwest Side park the week of Feb. 24. Stephen Maynard Caliendo, a political science professor at North Central College in Naperville, said while Pritzker has always been a vocal leader, it seems to have “ramped up” in Trump’s second term. “It appears to me that he sees an opportunity to capture the American imagination a bit.”

Ted argued that with the nation facing trillions in debts, it’s essential to know just what the government is spending taxpayer money on. Trump’s rapid actions on USAID shows what needs to happen in Illinois, because right now there is an entrenched bureaucracy of lawmakers, administrators and unions that will never audit itself without outside pressure.
Ted joined Dan and Amy to discuss Gov. Pritzker’s sad attempt at humor, his dismissal of the Illinois counties voting to separate from the state, why the state’s downstate counties have a desire and need for representation, the potential of bringing DOGE to Illinois, the potential for a statewide tax hike, the fight against the Dexter Reed settlement, and more.
Ted joined Tom Miller to talk about the need for a DOGE in Illinois. Ted said he would start with Illinois’ overall budget, then dive into the spending on education and especially Chicago Public Schools, then Human Services, then onto the number of bloated, duplicative local governments.
Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul said the volume of litigation has become so intense, he would like to add new attorneys who would focus solely on litigation battling the Trump administration. And while he admits the cost of those cases is stretching the resources of his office, he is not yet ready to ask lawmakers for additional funding to cover those costs.
