Following a 6-3 U.S. Supreme Court decision Friday, siding with parents in opting out their children from school curriculum with LGBTQ storybooks, Illinois political leaders are sounding off.

Illinois political leaders are sounding off on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling curbing nationwide injunctions over executive orders restricting birthright citizenship.

Pritzker said he believed his inclusion in the national conversation is good for Illinois. “When I ran for governor in the first place in 2017 and 2018, never, never could I have imagined that anybody would talk about me as the potential vice-presidential nominee or as a candidate for president of the United States,” Pritzker said

Pritzker: “Stripping birthright citizenship from people born in this country goes against rights guaranteed in the Constitution. We must stand against unconstitutional actions and stand up for the fundamental rights granted to people in the United States of America.”
