Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Politico: the so-called ‘news site’ that got millions form the swamp in order to buy stories and favorable coverage, like this love letter to blue state political animal AGs.
Our attorney general isn’t exactly giving himself a hernia prosecuting corruption in IL.
Why is it always seemingly the grannies that come out in the largest numbers and are the loudest about issues that really have nothing to do with them ( abortion, trans rights, etc.)? Activist mam maws are pretty annoying. Do some knitting, watch “ Murder She Wrote “ and bake some cookies once in a while, will ya?
When you have no job you have to do something.
The rest of us are busy working to pay the taxes they imposed and for their Social Security.
Filing lawsuits against common sense policy that people want and just voted for is a losing strategy. These AGs are losers on a losing team living in a loser’s bubble in loser states, and the people who elected them, their base, are also losers. The public is tired of losers and loser lawfare.
Definition of a loser: “A person who is unable to be successful on a sustained basis”. Substitute “party” for “person” and you have the Democrat Party.
It’s consuming enormous resources in their offices. And apparently there’s not a single thing being done by the Trump administration that Illinois should, dare I say, help with. Nothing in federal cost cutting measures that doesn’t deserve some cooperation? Nothing in K-12 improvement efforts that isn’t worthy? Nothing in fraud prevention for safety net programs that doesn’t deserve some constructive engagement?
Life is a series of trade offs. If Illinois and these other states continue to obstruct the Trump administration, they should obviously expect nothing in return except what’s mandated, or in other words, the bare minimum. The funny part is that these blue states are the ones that need federal assistance the most. Not a good strategy.
The Democrats have gone beyond loser into a break with reality. They don’t have a single policy, position, or institution that recognizes the real world. They live in an the alternate universe that exists only in their own minds.
