Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. People tend to be generous when repaying favors when it’s not their money used for repayment.
Any way it will not be Brandon who pays, it will be the poor taxpayer who pays.
This is criminal use of taxpayer money. Bribery pure and simple. Quid pro quo and a racketeering conspiracy. Because of this sort of decades long politician/public union mobster activity Illinois taxpayers owe the public sector unions zero. When the City, county and state go bankrupt the public unions and their perverted pensions can go hang.
Sorry, Charlie, but your dream scenario and reality are miles apart. Theirs is upheld by laws while yours is relying on fantasies not likely to come to fruition certainly any time soon.
Three downvotes from the la-la land of fantasy fans apparently
If you cant see the evil criminality in this then you are lost. I pray for your soul.
Thanks, Reverend.
He already is with the Mansion Tax. CTU asked for money for homeless students affordable housing for teachers that couldn’t afford to live in the Gold Coast.
maybe this beyond Brandons powers to grant, but I’m still shocked CTU (and all the other city & state unions for that matter) haven’t demanded right to claim covid disability benefits. The same as cops & fire statewide(per Mendozas brother)

The Union voters got out and voted for Brandon the rest didn’t. That’s how it works in Illinois. Those that vote get goodies; those that don’t don’t.
